President Tinubu of Nigeria Signs Students Loan Bill into Law

For the students in Nigeria, this is unquestionably wonderful news. The Students Loan Bill has been signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This was revealed to reporters in Abuja by the President’s media team, led by Mr. Dele Alake, a member of the Presidential Strategic Team.

Alake said that the new law is a fulfillment of one of President Tinubu’s election pledges. Alake was joined by other members of the media team, including Tunde Rahman, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, and Permanent Secretary, of the Ministry of Education, David Adejoh.

When asked if the new law would not lead to an increase in school fees, Alake responded that the two issues had nothing to do with one another and that the law’s main goal was to assist poor pupils in receiving an education in the nation.

“We are very happy to announce to you that today, just a few minutes ago, the President His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, signed into law, the Student Loans Bill and that Student Loans Bill, you all know what it entails, what it connotes the meaning.

“This is the promise made during the presidential campaign by the then-candidate, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that he will bring back the student loans issue to the front burner and today, that promise he made has been kept, he has just signed that bill into law, which henceforth, will allow or enable our indigent students to access federal government loans to fund their educational pursuit or career and this is how it’s done in other developed climes all over the world,” he said.

Wow! It appears that the new president of Nigeria is not there to have fun. Since taking office, he hasn’t taken his foot off the gas. Is this the change that Nigerians have long demanded?

Is this the Renewed Hope we were promised?

Give or take he is still on a stolen mandate and I think this is him trying to buy over the Youths, which after that we will see shege banza.
Them never tell us why we dey hear of that Oando shit yet, and why we dey see premium shege already when him never stay up to a month for office.
Tinubu is a bad choice for Nigerians and e go soon clear.

  2. The only qualified students will be the children of the elites and soon they will announce affiliations of Nigeria ???????? universities to schools abroad like havard and Co. Only their children can access such loans and when they do, they will have to pay back right? Good, which means those selected will be given Jobs to be able to pay back the loans. He is making sure that leadership remains with the selected political system.

The government should fix the unemployment problem in the country first before passing such law. How will the student pay back if he/she comes out and joins the unemployment queue?
Knowing our politicians, this is another way to embezzle money. Qualify 2 students, record 50 students. And Nigerians won’t argue it because they think the government is coming through with their promises. Its a win win for them and a total loss for the masses.

When they give student loan which job would they use to pay for the loan after school..? They have not solved the issues of unemployed batches of graduates that are still in the labour market looking for jobs. They should be looking for ways to empower youths with great ideas that would expand the labour market as well as job creations…

Besides they are already scaring the youths with prison time if defaulted..
