Footprints On The Moon
Footprints On The Moon: For a while now I haven’t really written anything but have been sharing other people’s thoughts all with the same purpose at the end of the day…
What’s up with the frenzy?
I am caught in a stampede of my own thought
an avalanche of confusion erupts in my mind
why the hustle and bustle
the checks and cross-checks
all in a bid to fit into a puzzle we have no idea who we are up against
in this game of life called chess
many are comfortable as pawns
the duty and the life of the queen is just too demanding for their little mind
but unlike the characters in the chess game, we get to choose the role we would rather play
at least we can pretend to be.
In that little zone called mediocrity is a never-ceasing rush to occupy front rows like in a cinema
would you rather be among the eight pawns
or a single queen or king
the choice is yours at the end of the day
a great man once told me
be all you can be with a difference
distinguish yourself and inspire your world
when others sit, stand.
when they stand, stand out
when they stand out, outstand them
In the words of Timo Cruz in the movie Coach Carter,
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others”.
Don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon
