Professor Kate Omenugha, FNIPR, the acting Vice Chancellor of Anambra State University, known as Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), has joined forces with the Southeast Education Transformation Conference (SEEDUCON) for the year 2024.
On February 29, 2024, a delegation from SEEDUCON, comprising the Chairperson, Mrs. Chinwe Nweke, Ambassador Bright-Alexander Nwakamma, the head of Operations, and Mr. Paul Chino, in charge of Sponsorships & Partnerships, paid a visit to the esteemed office of Professor Kate Omenugha, the Second Female Professor of Mass Communication in Nigeria. During this visit, the SEEDUCON team formally presented her with the official documentation of the conference.
Professor Kate graciously accepted the invitation to become a full partner of SEEDUCON 2024.
Furthermore, drawing on her experience as the former Commissioner of Basic Education in Anambra State, Professor Kate has assembled a team of four from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), specifically from the Igbariam Campus, to actively participate in the conference’s planning and execution. An official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining the terms of this partnership will soon be drafted and signed.
SEEDUCON 2024 aims to convene a gathering of education policymakers, regulators, stakeholders, and private school proprietors from across the Southeast region. The primary objective of this event is to deliberate on the Future of Education within the state, with a focus on crafting a comprehensive blueprint and implementing policies geared towards a transformative shift in the education sector. This shift entails transitioning from the conventional education paradigm to a functional model that empowers students with 21st-century skills and knowledge, thereby positioning them competitively on the global stage.
The forthcoming conference holds the promise of catalyzing significant advancements in early education throughout the Southeast, thereby contributing to the overall transformation and progress of Ala Igbo.
