Gpenzy, The Music Frenzy
He calls himself the Upcoming Sugar Daddy of Lagos; Ogbonna Godspower, professionally known as Gpenzy, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and musician. In 2018, he won The Sctage Season One. He came into the limelight with his first release in 2016 ‘Simbi.’
The Abia state indigene born on the 30th day of June in the year 1995 grew up in Lagos state till the age of 15 when he moved to Effurun, Delta state. Here Gpenzy studied Petroleum Engineering in FUPRE for 4 years and suddenly dropped out for personal reasons. A year later in 2015, he moved to the east to study Industrial Chemistry at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU), where he graduated with a second class upper before relocating to Lagos to pivot his career.
In 2016 after his first year in school, he resumed his musical career with a first release “Simbi”. Gpenzy flows with Afro-pop, RnB, and Afro beats, he also plays the keyboard and drums. Several times he has said he’s been inspired by the likes of Jason Derulo, Rotimi, SAINt JHN, and Burna Boy.
Affiliated to Big Music Group and AVO, Gpenzy is a musical frenzy and from all indications; the ladies’ man. Handsome, well-built, and tall, the Abia singer with his melodic voice would snatch your woman off your fingers #nocap.
